The Light-Duty Manual-Assisted wheelchair rental from Irie Mobility is ideally designed for indoor mobility, paved walkways around hotels, airports, lobbies, and resort paths. Delivered fully assembled and ready to use.
Your wheelchair has been cleaned, inspected, and delivered, ready to use. Please follow these instructions throughout your rental.

Our Light-Duty Manual-Assisted Wheelchair is perfect for you to get around and retains the ability for a loved one or companion to assist you. Please review the following information before using the equipment.

Open the Frame Fully
Push down on both seat rails until the wheelchair “locks” into the open position and engage the brakes before sitting.

Lower Both Armrests
Once seated, ensure flip-back arms are down and secure before sitting. Ensure each armrest clicks into place.

Position Footrests
Unlock footrests and swing them forward until they click into place. While seated place your legs onto the footrest.

Release Wheel Brakes
Before moving, ensure both side brakes are in the “up” (unlocked) position. Re-engage when your stopped.
⚠️ Always apply wheel locks before sitting, standing, or transferring.
Quick Tip: DO NOT STAND ON footrests, they are not meant to hold your entire body weight.
Daily Care & Maintenance
To keep your Light-Duty Manual-Assisted wheelchair in the best condition during your reservation period, please avoid all sand and saltwater exposure. These wheelchairs are not designed for beach use, and sand or moisture can damage the wheels, bearings, and frame. If the wheelchair comes into contact with moisture or splashes while outdoors, simply wipe it dry with a clean cloth to protect it for the remainder of your stay.

Why? - Solid rubber wheels and small casters are not designed for sand or loose terrain. They will sink, lock, or tip the chair forward.

Dissembly & Transport
Our Light-Duty Manual Assisted wheelchair is delivered fully assembled and ready for use. This model folds compactly for transport and storage, and the swing-away footrests can be rotated out of the way to facilitate easier transfers. No tools or mechanical adjustments are needed for the delivered equipment. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us or submit a support request.
The manual wheelchair does not require assembly; simply unfold it fully and follow the steps below for safe handling and transport.

Open wheelchair and lock the brakes.
Press down firmly on both seat rails until the frame is completely open and stable.

Swing footrests forward and ensure they click into place.
Footplates must always be in the forward, safe position before use.

Preferably with assistance, sit in the chair using slow, controlled movement.
Ensure brakes are locked, arms are down before sitting.

Unlock brakes
and begin movement slowly.
Push slowly and avoid bumps, cobblestones, or uneven transitions.

For transport, fold the chair by lifting the seat handles upward and the seat.
Store in a dry, shaded area away from water or sand.
⚠️ Never sit or transfer without first engaging the brakes.
⚠️ Always maintain control, wheelchairs can roll quickly on slopes or smooth flooring.
Troubleshooting & Common Questions
The chair feels hard to push?
If using on a surface not compatible with the wheelchair, navigate to a different surface.
Are the wheels veering?
This can occur if there is a buildup of debris on the wheel or in the attachment points; clean for smooth usage.
Brakes not holding?
This can occur if the brakes are not fully locked. Double-check the brakes and firmly lock them for full performance.
Footrests won't swing?
This can occur if the footrests are misaligned. Double-check aligned and re-swing.
⚠️ If the chair feels unstable or wheels wobble, stop using it and contact support.
